Ministry-approved title: Information Technology Infrastructure
Build on previous post-secondary education or experience in computer systems, program and cybersecurity to the next level and become a leader in securing and managing an organization’s cloud infrastructure – one of the fastest growing fields in IT.
This program emphasizes leadership in the design, implementation and deployment of services in the cloud by utilizing cloud computing, privacy and legal principles and methodology to meet system requirements and align with business goals and objectives. An optional work term allows students to apply their learning in a real work environment.
Upon completion of this program, graduates will be prepared to write industry standard cloud technology certifications from three of the largest public cloud service providers.
Applicants who are internationally educated in a non‐English speaking country must meet Durham College’s English Language Proficiency Policy.

Graduates can address back-end and front-end configuration, as well as develop administration and troubleshooting techniques to manage a cloud environment. Graduates are prepared to address the demand for strategies in cloud computing and infrastructure deployment.
Upon completion of this program, graduates will be prepared to write industry standard cloud technology certifications from three of the largest public cloud service providers: Amazon (AWS), Microsoft (Azure) and Google (GCP) cloud.

Graduates can work at any organization utilizing a cloud platform, including those utilizing Amazon (AWS), Microsoft (Azure) and Google (GCP) cloud.
Participating in the optional work term semester is an excellent way to build your professional network, explore career paths and apply in-class teachings to real work situations.
Students in the Cloud Computing graduate certificate program will be invited to apply to the optional work term semester during their first academic semester. Entrance to the optional work term semester is limited and the processes for securing a work term are competitive. Students who qualify for the optional work term semester will be eligible to complete a four-month, paid work term after academic semester 2.
Supports are available through Experiential Learning to assist students with securing their work terms. In addition, Experiential Learning is in contact with work term students and their employers during the work terms to help with any questions.
To help students have the best learning experience possible, Durham College’s IT Services department has identified technology recommendations for each program based on course needs and software requirements. While not required, students may want to consider these suggestions if they are purchasing a computer or laptop for the upcoming academic year.
MINIMUM REQUIRED HARDWARE

Once transferred to the work term option of this program, students will have an administrative fee of $475 assessed to their accounts during the academic semester(s) prior to scheduled work term(s). The administrative fee goes to support the broad array of support services provided to work term students. These services are dedicated to support student success.
International students enrolled in the work term option are required to have a valid co-op work permit before starting the work term. In order to work in Canada, you must apply for and receive a Social Insurance Number. Documentation and instructions on how to apply for a co-op work permit will be provided only to students who are successful with their application into the work term option once Semester 1 grades have been finalized.
