Cabinet Making Level 1

In this introductory-level course, you will gain in-depth theory as well as a practical look at shop safety. You will also learn the correct use of hand and power tools (i.e. table, radial arm, mitre and jig saws, routers, and jointers). For your course project, you will complete a blanket box or tool chest, which you will be able to take home. Note: due to course content, you MUST attend the first night of class.

Notes:

The location for the Carpentry Shop is Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School, 316 Conant St., Oshawa (south on Ritson Road, south of Bloor Street). For your first night of class and for the duration of the course, you will need safety glasses and safety boots.  Please also bring a binder with paper, pencils and a tape measure. There is no textbook to purchase.  Due to the topic of safety in the shop being given the first night, you must attend the first night of class.
