Applied Ambulance/Fire Dispatch

This is a hands-on course for dispatchers looking for employment in the emergency services field. You will be introduced to the law, policies and procedures specific to ambulance and fire call takers. You will learn the role of fire and ambulance (Emergency Medical) services in the overall public safety picture. As well, you will examine the communicator's role in the delivery of effective service.

Notes:

Tuition includes a $28 non-tax deductible fee.
Course is only offered once a year, or, with less frequency.

For the Fall term, this course will offered via a combination of in-person labs and asynchronous learning (via Durham College’s Learning Management System, called DC Connect).

The first scheduled course date - Wednesday, September 14th - will be in-person, as will the following dates: October 5th, October 19th, and all classes between November 9th-December 14th. Online, asynchronous class dates include: September 21st, September 28th, October 12th, October 26th, and November 2nd.
