Photography: Intro to Birds

PHOT 1917

This hands-on introductory workshop will introduce you to the world of photographing birds. You will learn how to set up a backyard feeding station in order to attract a wide variety of birds that live in the area. You will learn where to place your feeders, how to go about photographing the birds, camera settings to use, equipment needed, and some tricks that will help you obtain those breathtaking shots. Weather permitting, part of the class will be held at the Lynde Shores to shoot birds in their natural habitat. This class is suitable for digital SLR cameras only.

Due to the pandemic, this course will not be taught in-class at the Oshawa or Whitby campuses. Instead, the instructor will deliver the course online using Zoom or another platform during the normally-scheduled class time. Assignments and tests will be posted using our Desire2Learn Learning Management System (called DC Connect). Therefore, students will need a computer with a webcam, audio and reliable high-speed Internet connectivity to participate. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we cannot predict at this time if/when we will resume in-class delivery for this course. Tuition includes a $13 non-tax deductible fee.

Should the stay-at-home order or lockdown be in effect when this course is run, the course content and outdoor workshops will be modified to ensure compliance with Regional health directives.
