Prerequisite: All ACE Distance students must complete the Learn to Learn course BEFORE enrolling in an ACE Distance course. This prerequisite requirement will be verified. Students without the prerequisite may be required to withdraw from the ACE course. This course focuses on structure and function in the areas of cellular biology, microbiology, human anatomy, genetics and our natural environment. Three major themes of biology are introduced: organization, homeostasis and interconnectedness. Emphasis is on the practical application of these concepts. The content of the course reflects the needs of many adult learners entering postsecondary college programs in health and environmental sciences.

Textbooks will be mailed directly to student.

Effective January, 2013 students registered to take an ACE Distance course through the tuition-free option managed by the College Sector Committee who have not logged on within 13 days of the start of the course will be removed from the course. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the CSC at l.wallace@xplornet.com. If you are removed from a course you will not be able to register for any further ACE Distance courses as a tuition-free student.

The minimum passing grade for this course is 70%.
