Prerequisite: All ACE Distance students must complete the Learn to Learn course BEFORE enrolling in an ACE Distance course. This prerequisite requirement will be verified. Students without the prerequisite may be required to withdraw from the ACE course. Information regarding the Learn to Learn course can be found in the ACE Online Communiqué for Students. Please see the link to the communiqué below.

This course emphasizes reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Learners are asked to demonstrate their ability to evaluate the information, ideas, issues, and styles evident in a variety of informational texts, media works and literary pieces. Learners use different sources to gather information, select appropriate forms of writing and choose from a range of organizational structures in producing unified and effective written work. Learners will also process and use oral communication effectively, assess a variety of media works and create one type of media work..

Notes:

Effective January, 2013 students registered to take an ACE Distance course through the tuition-free option managed by the College Sector Committee who have not logged on within 13 days of the start of the course will be removed from the course. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the CSC at l.wallace@xplornet.com. If you are removed from a course you will not be able to register for any further ACE Distance courses as a tuition-free student.

The minimum passing grade for this course is 70%.
