Students explore the use of computer-based information systems in management and accounting. Students examine information technology's impact on organizational decision-making and competitive advantage in the context or the cultural and ethical issues facing managers. Information technology fundamentals are explored (networking and communications; database management systems; data warehousing; systems development life cycle) as well as security, control frameworks and auditing computer based systems. Students are required to use MS Access, MS Visio, and MS Project during the exploration of the above topics.
