Decorating: Beyond the Basics

DECR 2352

This course fully unifies and relies on all of the skill sets, theories and techniques learned in the previous prerequisite courses of the Interior Decorating Certificate Program. You will gain an understanding of the design process when working with a potential client. Topics covered will include how to analyze a space and implement the appropriate design solutions, ergonomics and its relationship to design, client programming, space planning and all other theories and principles required to fully design a residential interior. Please be prepared to purchase additional art supplies.

Due to the pandemic, this course will not be taught in-class at the Oshawa or Whitby campuses. Instead, the instructor will deliver the course online using Zoom or another platform during the normally-scheduled class time. Assignments and tests will be posted using our Desire2Learn Learning Management System (called DC Connect). Therefore, students will need a computer with a webcam, audio and reliable high-speed Internet connectivity to participate. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we cannot predict at this time if/when we will resume in-class delivery for this course.e. Tuition includes a $3 non-tax deductible fee.
