Early Childhood Education Field Placement I & Seminar
In this placement alternative, students apply their knowledge and skills working with children and families in a online, mentored environment. Students will engage with a variety of videos, discussions and assignments that will allow them to meet the required learning outcomes of the typical Field Placement.
Note: Students must sign on to DC Connect at http://www.durhamcollege.ca/connect using their student number and password (birthdate MMDDYR) to access this online course. You will not be able to access the course until the start date. Please allow 24 hours after registration for the system to update.
Students will be allowed to register and take Observing the Young Child (CHLD1383) along with ECE Field Placement & Seminar I during the same semester. However, if you decide to withdraw from the Observing course you will also have to withdraw from the Field Placement I course as the Observing course is a prerequisite or must be taken at the same time. If you withdraw after the official withdrawal date there will be no refund for either course.
Students must register for the ECE Field Placement I & Seminar course (FWK 2381) at the same time as the ECE Field Placement Preparation II course (FWKP 2382)
Students are strongly encouraged to register for both the Observing the Young Child course (CHLD1383) in the same semester as the ECE Field Placement I & Seminar course (FWK 2381), as the documentation is required for both courses.
(COVID-19 UPDATE: Students registered in ECE Field Placement 1 Alternative Delivery will be advised if Observing the Young Child and Field Placement Preparation 2 will be offered in the Fall semester, and will be required to register while taking ECE Field Placement 1)
