Legal and Ethical Issues Related to Aging

This course is directed at individuals working with or who have an interest in Gerontology. The focus is on providing care (in a health care setting) to a geriatric population in a legal and ethical manner. Discussion will cover both an institutional population and community based services. Topics will include; ethical decision making principles, current legislation, power of attorney and substitute decision making, elder abuse and funeral/after life care.
