Students develop problem solving skills by applying topics of study to related practical problems. Topics of study include: quadratic equations; systems of linear equations in two and three unknowns; trigonometric functions and polar coordinates; exponents and radicals; direct and indirect variation; complex numbers; exponents and logarithms; and analytical geometry.
Due to our campus closure as a result of Covid-19, this course will not be taught in class at the Oshawa or Whitby Campus. The instructor will be teaching this course via an online video communications system (Zoom or other). Face-to-face online classes will take place during normally scheduled class time. Assignments and tests will be posted using Durham College’s Desire2Learn based Learning Management System called DC Connect. Students will need a computer with webcam, audio, and a reliable high-speed internet connection to participate.
