This course is designed to provide students with evidence-based knowledge and skills required in diabetes education. Students will examine teaching and learning theories to promote behaviour change that apply to the adult learner. The clinical practice guidelines will be used as a guide to assist in maximizing self-management strategies to direct client interventions, improve outcomes and enhance quality of life.
This course has a minimum passing grade of 70%. Limited enrollment, students should register early.
Students are required to special order The Art & Science of Diabetes Self-Management from the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) and may be subject to additonal duties. Please be advised that it may take 2-3 weeks for the book to arrive.
