Diabetes Education: Approaches in Practice

This course will discuss learning styles and readiness to learn as they relate to people with diabetes. The role of the adult educator and effective teaching strategies are examined. Participants will design lesson plans and evaluation techniques. This is the second theory course in the Diabetes Education Certificate program.

Notes:

This course has a minimum passing grade of 70%. Limited enrollment, students should register early.

Students are required to special order The Art & Science of Diabetes Self-Management from the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) and may be subject to additonal duties. Please be advised that it may take 2-3 weeks for the book to arrive.
