All apprentices and individuals going through the Trade Equivalency Assessment are required to complete a welder practical assessment prior to the written examination.
This course will cover the practical tests required for the Red Seal welder C of Q. This test covers four welding processes (FCAW, SMAW, GMAW & GTAW), five plate assemblies (measurement, visual & bend), and three oxy-acetylene cutting tests (measurement & visual).
This course is only available to students who are qualified or eligible to challenge the C of Q.
Safety boots, leather gloves, helmet (supplied by the College), proper eyewear and protective clothing (leather coats are supplied by the College), any type of pliers to remove hot metal is mandatory in the welding shop. No class May 19, 2018.
