To ensure academic standards, many online courses require students to write a mid-term and/or final examination “in-person”. Please refer to the evaluation information provided in your course to confirm any “in-person” examination requirement. Your instructor will also provide you with details regarding the format of your examinations (if applicable).
Booking Your Exam
In the calendar below, click on your preferred exam date. In the details pop-up, click “Book Online” to schedule your exam.
Please note: Non-Durham College registered students must visit the External Exams page to schedule your exam directly with the Durham College Test Centre. The external client fee of $70+hst per exam will apply.
Students are expected to schedule their exams in advance using the online exam booking calendar. If you miss the deadline for booking an exam, you must contact firstname.lastname@example.org in writing to make a request to write late. Late exam requests will only be accepted up until noon three days prior to scheduled exams to allow sufficient time for processing and delivery to the Test Centre. Please note that late requests are not guaranteed to be accommodated, and are subject to available space. Student requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
The website will be live and accepting registrations 1 month prior to available writing date.
Online Proctored Exams
OntarioLearn is now offering the option of live online proctoring for your final exam. With OntarioLearn, Durham College has selected Examity to support you with this service. Please note there is a fee for this service.
All you need is a computer, a web cam and a high speed Internet connection. No additional software is required prior to your exam session. The live online proctor will provide the necessary software to effectively monitor your exam session remotely. Once your session is complete, your proctor will conclude the session and remove any remote proctoring software from your workstation.
Please view our Examity – Student Information Sheet for more information, technical support, and booking your online proctoring session.
In-Person Proctored Exams
For those students who live outside a 100 kilometer radius of a local college, you can arrange to write your final exam(s) under the supervision of a proctor.
The student is responsible for obtaining a professional to act as the proctor (who must be approved by Durham College) and any additional fees incurred, i.e. proctor fees and/or exam courier fees.
If you are using a proctor, a proctor form must be completed and returned via fax at 905.721.3195 or via email at email@example.com. Print and complete the proctor form and fax, or complete online and return it via email.
Please note: proctor forms must be received by the Distance Education office at least 10 business days prior to your scheduled exam date.
Supervised Proctored Exams
Durham College students who choose to write an exam at a Contact North Centre will be required to do so under Level 1 supervision. This means that there will be someone assigned to proctor you on an individual level while you write your exam.
There is a fee of $20 per hour per student for this service. Students who choose to be proctored at a Contact North location will be responsible for paying this and any additional fees for cancellations, no shows, or re-scheduled test appointments. If you have questions about Contact North’s Exam Invigilation Services, please contact the Scheduling Department via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
It is important to remember that there are various proctoring options available to you, including ones that have no associated cost. If you have questions about your options, please email Marisa Mazzotta, Program Assistant in Continuing Education in Durham College, at email@example.com.
OntarioLearn students not registered with Durham College
Non-Durham students will be required to visit the below noted webpage and schedule their exam directly with the Test Centre as an external client at a fee of $70+hst per exam.

Make-up final examinations must be scheduled and completed within two business days after the last official exam date.
You are responsible for notifying our exam coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org of your absence within 48 hours of the scheduled final examination who will arrange the rescheduling.
A $50 non-refundable fee will apply in all cases.
Missed tests and assignments are not covered by this policy and will not be rescheduled.
