Editorial style

Durham College’s Editorial Style Guide was developed to ensure a consistent identity, along with clarity of message and purpose, in the delivery of internal and external communications and documents pertaining to the college. It follows The Canadian Press Stylebook and the Canadian Oxford Dictionary, except where specified therein.

Common instances where the guide should be referenced and followed include the writing of:

  • Academic calendars.
  • Employee communications, including ICE content.
  • Marketing and promotional materials.
  • Media materials.
  • Other documents for public distribution.
