COVID-19: Durham College defers May semester start to Tuesday, May 19

As the COVID-19 situation evolves, Durham College (DC) leadership and faculty continue to review academic plans and calendars to ensure continuity of learning for our students. In response to the recent disruptions to the current semester, at this time, DC has decided to delay the start of the May semester to Tuesday, May 19. Please note that this date is subject to change based on public health advice and direction.

Tuesday, May 19 to Friday, August 7.

  • The May term will run on a condensed 12-week semester, from May 19 to August 7.
  • The semester will not include a Reading Week.
  • Where possible, the first two weeks of the semester will begin with online-only course delivery with a transition to in-class instruction.
  • Decisions will be based on public health guidelines in place at the time and will be shared once available.

DC is committed to the delivery of high-quality education and ensuring the academic success of our students.  These are unprecedented times that require us to be flexible and responsive while keeping the best interests of our students and community central to our decision-making.  We appreciate your patience as we continue to respond with the necessary actions that ensure the safety, health and well-being of our DC community.
