COVID-19 Update: Fall semester plans

Durham College (DC) is planning to welcome more students to campus in the fall semester.

Monday, March 1

Our campus community’s health and safety are a top priority, and as we approach the one-year mark of primarily learning and working remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are looking forward to welcoming more students back to campus this fall.

Planning for the fall 2021 semester is well under way, and DC is focused on returning to in-person learning as much as possible while keeping the health and safety guidelines established by Durham Region Public Health and the provincial government top of mind.

While many of our students are excited to return to campus or start their post-secondary experience in a classroom setting that includes hands-on learning and DC’s exceptional labs and academic spaces, we acknowledge that some students have thrived in the remote learning environment. Where possible, we will remain flexible, providing remote learning opportunities for those who want them.

The provincial government and health care sectors are signaling that the future looks brighter, and to ensure we are prepared for every eventuality, we are developing multiple program delivery plans. In doing so, we can be responsive to the evolving pandemic’s realities while ensuring DC is prepared and ready to support our students and their future successes.

We will be sure to communicate details as further information becomes available.
