COVID-19 Update: Increased in-person learning to resume as of Monday, January 31

Durham College (DC) will welcome more students and employees back on campus next month as remote learning in many programs transitions to in-person and hybrid delivery as of Monday, January 31.

Students are advised to review the program delivery chart for information about whether the delivery method for their program and courses will change. Class schedules will be updated in MyDC on Monday, January 24 at 10 a.m. for students to plan their return to campus and check meeting times and room locations. Please be aware that the updated schedules come into effect, Monday, January 31. Students should continue to follow their original schedule until Sunday, January 30. All schedule-related questions can be directed to the school offices.

In addition to increased in-person programming, many of our on-campus operations will resume in-person as well:

  • DC’s student services will offer virtual and in-person, pre-scheduled appointments.
  • Subject to public health guidance and government directives, the below services and facilities will re-open:
    • Athletics – as of Wednesday, January 26
    • Food services – as of Monday, January 31
    • The Oshawa Campus Library – as of Monday, January 31

Please visit the Campus Operations section of the Coming to Campus tab on the COVID-19 webpage for more information on what is open in-person or remotely at DC.

With an increased on-campus presence, employees should connect with their manager to determine whether they will be working on-site or remotely.

As a reminder, the college’s Health and Safety team should be made aware of any reported student and employee absences that are related to illnesses and COVID-19 symptoms. If you are sick and cannot attend work or class, even if you are learning remotely or working from home, please follow the illness reporting protocol:

We thank our entire campus community for their flexibility and patience as we transition back to campus this semester.
