COVID-19 Update: Winter semester program delivery information

This fall, we eagerly welcomed many of our students and employees back to Durham College (DC) campuses. With more activities taking place in-person and students learning hands-on in labs, shops, and studios, our college community’s commitment to keeping each other safe and healthy is working.

In addition to our stringent health and safety measures, the vaccination policy has allowed for an increased student and employee presence within our buildings, and we are looking forward to even more people returning to campus for the winter semester.

With this in mind, the following information details DC’s plans for the winter semester:

  • The semester runs from Monday, January 10 to Friday, April 22.
  • Reading week is scheduled for Monday, February 28 to Friday, March 4.
  • All post-secondary programs will be offered in one of the following four formats:
    • Remote – fully online;
    • Hybrid – a combination of in-person and remote;
    • Flexible – part of the program is delivered with some students and faculty in-person on campus and learning activities are broadcast to other students remotely at the same time; or
    • In-person, on campus – all of the program is delivered on campus, and students attend in-person.
  • Winter semester delivery information is now available on our COVID-19 website, including:
    • Program delivery chart
    • Student supports
    • Academic school contacts
    • Frequently asked questions
  • You can learn more about the semester’s important academic dates online.

As a reminder, all individuals coming to campus, college-operated property or college-sanctioned events are required to be fully vaccinated and must provide proof of full vaccination when coming to campus. The vaccination policy applies to new and returning winter semester students, and can be reviewed on the COVID-19 webpage.

Please note that decisions about program delivery may change as a result of public health and government direction. We encourage you to visit our webpage for updates, resources and answers to frequently asked questions.

We are looking forward to another great semester!
