DC’s vaccination policy in effect today

WHAT
Last week, Durham College (DC) released its vaccination policy for the fall semester. Effective today, Friday, September 3, all individuals coming to campus, college-operated property or college-sanctioned events will be required to be fully vaccinated with an accepted vaccine or have received the first of a two-dose vaccine, and provide proof through the daily COVID-19 screening questionnaire app. Proof of full vaccination will need to be uploaded by Sunday, October 17.

The below information outlines important vaccination expectations and rapid testing requirements for all individuals coming to campus.

Please note, access to campus buildings is currently available through specific entrances. Please refer to the COVID-19 webpage for the locations.

DETAILS
Effective Friday, September 3, the daily COVID-19 screening questionnaire app will ask those coming to campus, college-operated property or college-sanctioned events to self-declare and upload proof of their vaccination status. 

  • Fully vaccinated individuals will receive an electronic receipt that includes the colour green, indicating permission to come to campus.
  • Partially vaccinated individuals and those with an approved exemption will receive an electronic receipt that includes the colour yellow. They will be permitted on campus; however, between September 13 and October 17 they will also be required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 rapid test. Details about rapid testing on campus will be communicated in the coming days.
  • Unvaccinated individuals or individuals who prefer not to disclose their vaccination status will receive an electronic receipt that includes the colour red. They will not be permitted on campus.

 

In addition:

  • Visitors, including clients, customers, committee and community members, must show their vaccine dose administration receipt to security upon arrival and entry to campus and complete the screening process with security.
  • Third-party contractorsare required to work with their employer to provide proof of vaccination and complete the screening process with security.
  • Between September 13 and October 17, all partially-vaccinated individuals will also be required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 rapid test. Details about rapid testing on campus will be communicated in the coming days.

Uploading proof of vaccination via the app is mandatory and individuals will only be required to upload it one time. After documentation has been uploaded, individuals will still be required to complete the screening questionnaire app each day they come to campus. Individuals who need assistance with the app can contact the IT Service Desk at servicedesk@dc-uoit.ca or 905.721.3333, Option 1.

Please note: proof of vaccination status must be in the form of an official government-issued document or the document received from the organization that administered your vaccine. Documentation can be downloaded from the Ontario Health website.

After Sunday, October 17, only those who are fully vaccinated, or those with an approved exemption will be permitted on campus.
