As part of our In This Together DC email series, today’s update will share with you details about ongoing activities in the Campus Store.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the subsequent campus shut down, the Durham College (DC) Campus Store team had to figure out the best way to service our students. Immediately, our thought went to providing learning materials for the spring and summer semester, translating as many of them to an online or digital format as possible. Following that, we decided to open the store as an online warehouse, and utilize our existing and robust digital platform.
We have since moved fully to the online model since April 27, and continue to sell and ship physical and digital learning materials. The full Campus Store product line is also available online, including grad frames, teddy bears, jewellery, clothing and drinkware. We see this continuing into the fall semester, as the campus moves through this new reality. To ease this burden on our students, all shipping charges have been waived through to the end of the campus shut-down.
A few other highlights from the Campus Store team:
- We are no longer known as the Campus Bookstore. We have now rebranded to the Campus Store.
- Ontario Tech University no longer shares the Oshawa Campus Store space with DC, and as such, the space is currently undergoing a major renovation. We are very excited to soon unveil a fully DC branded shop.
