Reminder of face mask requirements while on campus

All students and employees are required to follow the mandatory face mask guidelines as outlined by Public Health, while on campus.

  • All students, employees and visitors are required to wear a mask while on campus.
  • Masks should fit securely, cover the nose and mouth, be made of at least two layers of tightly woven fabric such as cotton or linen and not have exhalation valves.
  • Face shields, bandanas and scarves are not acceptable replacements for a mask or facial covering.
  • If replacing current two-layer masks, it is advised that three-layer masks with woven cloth inside and outside and a non-woven, fibrous layer in between be considered.
  • Additional PPE that is required for specific programs and learning spaces is either identified in classrooms/labs or within course curriculum and must be adhered to.
  • Masks and coverings may only be removed in designated eating areas while eating and must be put back on once eating is complete.
  • Eating is not permitted outside of designated spaces, such as lounges and hallways.
  • Students and employees who cannot wear a face mask or covering must complete a risk assessment by emailing Those who cannot wear a mask and come to class without completing a risk assessment will be asked to leave.

The health and safety of our students and employees is of utmost importance. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure the health and well-being of our classmates and colleagues through the mandatory use of masks while on campus, as well as following the preventative safety measures.
