Three unrelated COVID-19 cases reported at the Oshawa campus on December 1 Posted on December 1, 2020 at 4:12 pm. WHAT Three new, unrelated COVID-19 cases have been reported at the Durham College (DC) Oshawa campus. WHEN Tuesday, December 1 DETAILS We have been advised that three members of the DC community have tested positive for COVID-19. The first individual was last on campus in the A-Wing of the Gordon Wiley building on Wednesday, November 18. The second individual was last on campus on Tuesday, November 24 also in the A-wing – however, these two cases have been determined to be unrelated to one another. The third individual was last on campus in the Centre for Collaborative Education (CFCE) on Monday, November 30. Durham Region Health Department (DRHD) has determined a low risk to our campus community with these three cases. WHAT IS BEING DONE Risk mitigation measures, including appropriate cleaning protocol, have been implemented at the college based on specific direction from DRHD. DRHD will provide specific direction to any individuals who may be at risk. If you have not been contacted, your campus classes and activities continue as scheduled. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO Please do not come to campus if you’re feeling unwell. Continue following DC’s preventative safety measures when coming to campus. Complete the mandatory one minute COVID-19 screening questionnaire prior to arriving on campus. If you have received a COVID-19 test, you are required to remain at home until you are cleared by DC’s risk management/health and safety office.
