Welcome to Durham College (DC) and welcome to 2021!

The winter semester is set to begin, and we are ready to support you through your educational journey.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic continues to present challenges and we are starting the year under provincial shutdown restrictions, we have proven that together we can persevere. DC is committed to transparent communication, a culture of respect, be it on campus or virtually, and providing you with a high-quality academic experience through our blended-learning approach and virtual support services.

Whether you are a returning student, or joining us for the first time, I want to assure you that we are well-prepared to serve you virtually. While the province remains in shutdown until January 23, our school offices and some support services will be open for pre-scheduled in-person appointments with modified hours. A full list of services is available here.

In order to keep our campus community healthy and safe, we will see fewer people on campus this semester, especially while Durham Region remains in a shutdown situation. To ensure a smooth transition into the winter semester, we have listed some important information and links for you below.

Who can come to campus?

At this time, limited and controlled access to campus is available only to students and essential employees who have a scheduled on-campus activity, such as a class, lab or in-person appointment.

What’s open on campus?

For a full list of what is open on campus or operating virtually, please visit our Winter Semester tab on the COVID-19 webpage.

How to access campus?

Those who must come to campus can access our Oshawa and Whitby buildings at one of the entry points listed in our coming to campus tab, under accessing campus on the COVID-19 website. Security personnel will manage capacity at key locations to ensure health and safety guidelines are followed. Please note: on-campus parking gates will be open and parking is free for the semester.

What do I need to know before coming to campus?

Anyone coming to campus for a scheduled on-campus activity, like a class or lab, or for those with an in-person appointment with one of our student services or school offices – please follow the guidelines listed here before coming to campus.
