UDL and Assessment and Evaluation

What is it?

The following two examples show how to create choices in how a student learns about an assignment and choices in how a student completes an assignment. In the first example, the students are given options for how to complete an assignment. In the second example, the assignment is presented to the students in three formats, in class discussion, Word document, and as a descriptive audio file using Audacity.

What are the benefits?

Provides multiple and flexible means of expression to provide diverse students with alternatives for demonstrating what they have learned. By providing audio along with text, students are provided with another modality to increase comprehension of the assignment criteria.

What UDL principle does it meet?
