The Durham College men’s soccer team punched their ticket to the CCAA national championship final after a convincing 2-0 win on Thursday evening at Vaso’s Field against the Red Deer Kings.

By reaching the gold medal game, the Lords will secure their first CCAA national medal since 1999 when the team captured bronze.

The Lords will now have a date with the VIU Mariners of British Columbia on Saturday. Kick-off for the gold medal match between the OCAA and PACWEST competitors is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at Vaso’s Field.

The competition is taking place at the recently renovated Vaso’s Field, which now features FIFA approved artificial infill turf by AstroTurf Inc., along with eight change rooms, varsity team rooms, a press box with television broadcasting capabilities, a VIP viewing box, new energy-efficient Musco LED stadium lighting, and bleachers that will accommodate up to 500 fans.

The entirety of the national championship will also be streamed online via SPORTCANADA TV on CCAA LIVE and will have live stats available on ccaa.ca.
