DC Community Dialogue on Anti-Black Racism – Part 2: Allyship

On Thursday, July 2, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., part two of this series will be held with a focus on anti-Black racism and allyship.

This second session will be extended to 90 minutes and will include an open space for checking in and sharing experiences followed by an informal conversation and exploration of allyship, building spaces to heal and how “whiteness” can be used to eliminate racism.

Earlier this month, nearly 200 members of the Durham College (DC) community came together for the first DC Community Dialogue on Anti-Black Racism, co-hosted by the college’s Office of Student Diversity, Inclusion and Transitions, Black Student Success Network, Social Justice Week committee, and DC Students Inc.

Over the course of an hour, students and employees came forward to share their lived experience, ask important questions and create a safe space for courageous conversation.

As a college community, it is vital that we continue to take time to support and connect with one another during these unsettling times, and everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
