This workshop highlights the most common misconceptions about, and mistakes made in, the problem-solving process. Through visuals and examples, it will look at how some common tactics for solving problems are surprisingly ineffective and offer replacement strategies to ensure students’ thought process is more critical and broadly applicable. Finally, the workshop will circle back to the example problem introduced and studied in the previous workshop in order to apply the problem-solving strategies discussed.
