Are you thinking about what comes after graduation or considering a summer job in your chosen field? Perhaps you’d like to begin networking with future employers or learn how to get your foot in the door?
We want to help prepare you for your future with career-focused activities at Durham College’s Gear Up to Get Hired events and the Durham College and Ontario Tech University Virtual Job Fair.
From Monday, January 24 to Wednesday, February 2, you’ll have the opportunity to attend workshops and sessions that will cover how to create a personal pitch, resumé writing techniques, job fair success strategies, using LinkedIn and more. You can then put your newfound skills to the test during the Durham College and Ontario Tech University Virtual Job Fair.
On Thursday, February 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. we will be virtually hosting a variety of employers who are actively looking for applicants. Be sure to register for all the events on the Hired Portal today and you’ll receive reminders and be entered to win a gift card to the Oshawa Centre (to help you score a new outfit for that interview you’re about to land!).
This year’s interactive platform will include exciting new features to personalize your experience! Students will have the ability to upload a headshot, resumé and LinkedIn page to their profile. Employers will also have dedicated pages to upload their content as well as the ability to search for qualified candidates.
Keep up-to-date on all Gear Up to Get Hired activities and job fair updates as they unfold by following @GetHiredDC on Instagram or using #GetHiredDC on social media.
