Whitby Campus

Please see below for need to know information about the event in general:

Sign in

Morning Shift

  • Please arrive at the Staff Lounge at 9 a.m. and sign in at the volunteer table to receive your lunch ticket and DC t-shirt.

Afternoon Shift

  • Please arrive at the Staff Lounge at 11:30 a.m. and sign in at the volunteer table to receive your lunch ticket and DC t-shirt.

Please note; you need to be at your station by 12 sharp.  If you are planning on eating, please take this into consideration when planning your arrival time.

Dress Code

  • Dark pants
  • Volunteer T-Shirt (available for pick-up when you sign in).
  • Comfortable shoes

Guest Arrivals

Guests will be directed to Park in the main lot and enter through the temporary main entrance where they will be directed to the Student Lounge for event registration.  They will receive a Durham College bag, a Durham College Guide and their brochure with all event information.

Event Guide

Upon registration, guests will receive an event guide outlining the activities of the day, floor plan and a copy of the feedback survey.  If guests complete the feedback survey they are entered into a draw to win free tuition.

School Tables

All school and services tables will be in the Cafeteria. Please direct guests to the appropriate schools to get more information on their program(s) of interest.

Walking campus tours

The Tour Depot will be located in the main hall with tours departing on an ongoing basis for the duration of the event.

REFRESHMENTS FOR STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS

Lunch tickets will be provided to all volunteers when they sign-in in the Staff Lounge.

Lunch will be provided between 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Staff Lounge for all volunteers. Please ensure that there is always coverage in your area. We ask that you only take 20 minutes for lunch and quickly get back to your station.

Refreshments for visitors

Tim Horton’s will be open for visitors.

Bookstore

The bookstores at both the Oshawa and Whitby campuses will be open.   Guests will be able to look at the books and buy Durham College swag.   Please encourage guests to visit both locations.

Tear down

It is important that all stations remain set-up and staffed until 2:30 p.m. At 2:30 p.m. provided there are no visitors in your area please pack up your booth and then offer assistance to other areas. Please see a staff member in your section for further directions. All supplies should be delivered to the Strategic Enrolment Services (front desk at the main doors of the campus). Once tear down has been completed, please check with someone in the Recruitment and Admissions team (Nathalie) to see if there is anything else to be done before leaving.
