To ensure you meet all of the milestones you need to accomplish between now and the start of your school year, we have created this helpful checklist to help you succeed. International students, be sure to also check this guide for new international students.

Visit www.durhamcollege.ca/startstrong for more information and to register for a variety of virtual sessions to help you succeed in your first year at Durham College.

CONNECT WITH A WELLNESS COACH
If you are a student who could benefit from support around identifying your goals, balancing school and life, and would like to create an action plan for success, we encourage you to book an appointment to meet with a wellness coaching by calling 905.721.3037 or emailing email@example.com.
BECOME FAMILIAR WITH MYCAMPUS
MyCampus your central hub for administrative information. This is where you will go to select a timetable and apply for bursaries. This is also where you find announcements, financial notifications and a variety of important forms and “how to” instructions.
ACCESS YOUR DC MAIL
As a Durham College student you will receive a DC Mail email account. You can access this email account through MyCampus by clicking on the DC Mail icon at the top right hand side of the page or by visiting www.dcmail.com. Now is a good time to test out your new email account, you are encouraged to login and send an email to your personal email account to confirm your email address.
COMPLETE PREP 1000
PREP 1000 is Durham College's preparatory course for all new students. Students will be able to access this course as of November 30, 2020. This is a non-graded, free online course that all first-year students are required to complete by the end of the first month of your program. In addition to providing you with valuable information, this course will also help you become familiar with DC Connect.
REGISTER FOR YOUR CLASSES
Course registration for the Winter semester opens December 7. Find your program’s specific registration date and time on MyCampus under “Need to Know” on the DC Home tab, along with helpful guides on the “How to/Forms” Tab. Remember, you must have paid your $500 non-refundable deposit (domestic students only) or your semester in full (international students) in order to register!

PRINT YOUR COURSE OUTLINES
This is the best way to keep track of due dates for tests and assignments! Visit MyCampus under Registration to find your course outlines.

You are expected to follow all of the College’s policies. To help you stay get to know the most relevant policies, please complete Module 4 of the PREP 1000 course which can be located within DC Connect. Additionally, students can also access the policies online by visiting www.durhamcollege.ca/policies.

DOWNLOAD THE ALERTUS MASS NOTIFICATION APP
The Alertus App is DC’s primary campus mass notification system to notify students and employees of high priority, active threats on campus that have the potential to affect their immediate safety (i.e. a violent aggressor, secure and hold or urgent evacuations).
