International students, be sure to also check this guide for new international students. GET TO KNOW YOUR PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS AND PROGRAM DELIVERY METHOD Be prepared for your first day of class! Review your program for any additional requirements including laptops, police record checks and immunizations at www.durhamcollege.ca/programs. MAKE YOUR PAYMENT You can access an online program fee calculator, learn about other fees and payment options by visiting www.durhamcollege.ca/payingyourfees. REVIEW THE START STRONG VIRTUAL SESSIONS IN PREP 1000 Don’t worry if you were unable to attend the virtual sessions. You can access the recordings to a number of the sessions in the PREP 1000 course. CONNECT WITH A SUCCESS COACH If you are a student who could benefit from additional support with the transition to college, the RISE program is here to provide one-on-one coaching. CONNECT WITH A WELLNESS COACH If you are a student who could benefit from support around identifying your goals, balancing school and life, and would like to create an action plan for success, we encourage you to book an appointment to meet with a wellness coaching by calling 905.721.3037 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. BECOME FAMILIAR WITH MYCAMPUS MyCampus your central hub for administrative information. This is where you will go to select a timetable and apply for bursaries. This is also where you find announcements, financial notifications and a variety of important forms and “how to” instructions. ACCESS YOUR DC MAIL As a Durham College student you will receive a DC Mail email account. You can access this email account through MyCampus by clicking on the DC Mail icon at the top right hand side of the page or by visiting www.dcmail.com. Now is a good time to test out your new email account, you are encouraged to login and send an email to your personal email account to confirm your email address. COMPLETE PREP 1000 PREP 1000 is Durham College's preparatory course for all new students. Students who complete this course by January 31 will have their name entered into a draw for a $500 Amazon gift card This is a non-graded, free online course that all first-year students are required to complete by the end of the first month of your program. In addition to providing you with valuable information, this course will also help you become familiar with DC Connect. REGISTER FOR YOUR CLASSES Course registration for the Winter semester opened December 7. Find your program’s specific registration date and time on MyCampus under “Need to Know” on the DC Home tab, along with helpful guides on the “How to/Forms” Tab. Remember, you must have paid your $500 non-refundable deposit (domestic students only) or your semester in full (international students) in order to register! Visit Module 2 in the PREP 1000 in DC Connect for step by step information on how to register for your classes. PRINT YOUR COURSE OUTLINES This is the best way to keep track of due dates for tests and assignments! Visit MyCampus under Registration to find your course outlines. PURCHASE YOUR TEXTBOOKS Find your list of required books on MyCampus under Helpful Links/Registration/Books for Term. These books can be purchased online at the Campus Bookstore. REVIEW CAMPUS POLICIES You are expected to follow all of the College’s policies. To help you stay get to know the most relevant policies, please complete Module 4 of the PREP 1000 course which can be located within DC Connect. Additionally, students can also access the policies online by visiting www.durhamcollege.ca/policies.
