Residence offers several options for you to choose from to help find your perfect roommate match.
Already know who you want to live with? Request your roommate
On the ‘Medical, Accessibility, Special Considerations, and Roommate Requests’ step of the Housing Portal, you have the option to write the name of your desired roommate.
The following criteria must be met in order for us to accommodate this request:
- You must be accepted into the same room style as your desired roommate.
- Your requested roommate must also request you.
Want to find your own roommate? Use the Roommate section of the Housing Portal
Around the beginning of August, you will gain access to the Roommate Section of the Housing Portal, which will remain open for approximately two weeks. In the Roommate Section of the Housing Portal you will be able to browse through potential roommates and have conversations with anyone you’re interested in rooming with.
During this time you will be able to send roommate requests and accept roommate requests. If someone accepts your request to room together, you will be matched.
More information about the Roommate Section of the Housing Portal will be sent out in late July prior to the Roommate Section opening.
Want help finding a roommate? Let Residence services create a match for you
Residence will match you with a compatible roommate based on answers from your personality profile questions. Towards the end of August, Residence will email all student residents their roommate’s first name and screen name. With this information you will be able to communicate with your new roommate through the Housing Portal.
Please note: We will do our absolute best to accommodate your roommate request, but due to the complexity of the roommate matching process we may not be able to guarantee your request.
