Structures II

In this course, students will study the expanded concepts of reinforced concrete components, wood structures (members) and structural steel framing system in residential and light duty commercial buildings. The basic structural elements will be investigated along with the required load analysis utilizing standard force diagrams and formulas. Case study projects and architectural drawings will be studied. In the consideration of the case study projects, safety issues will be considered with particular attention directed to personal safety on each project.
