Biomedical Terms & Devices II

This course builds on the concepts learned in BIOMEDICAL TERMS AND DEVICES I (BMDV 4131). In this course the biomedical technologist learns about physiological measurements with pressures; respiratory systems and equipment; the nervous system and methods of measuring nervous and brain function, critical care areas such as ICU, CCU, OR, and ER emphasizing bedside monitoring and telemetry, and sterilization techniques. It also includes an introduction to batteries and preventative and corrective maintenance. This course is a combination of hands on laboratories, simulations and demonstrations in the laboratory. It also includes an introduction to batteries and computers in biomedical environments.
