Conference Planning I

This course is the first of two where students learn how to plan and implement a professional conference for their community. Each year, the YJI students hold an annual conference. This conference is entirely run and prepared by the YJI students. Students gain experience in budgeting, researching youth programs and relevant people, advertising, promoting, workshop planning, organizing youth and community agencies and public speaking. This course will consist of team meetings, independent task work, creation of activity logs and focus groups. After successful completion of Conference Planning I and Conference Planning II, students will receive a certificate for 60 hours of Professional Conference Planning.
