Communication & Research In Sport

This course will introduce you to the principles and applications of communication skills for business purposes. Through self-assessment, reading, listening, viewing, writing, and speaking exercises, you will learn and practice the communication processes with a focus on improving interpersonal communication and effective writing strategies. Additionally, teamwork and the traits of productive team members will be studied and applied for group presentations. The research focus of this course will prepare you to use relevant inquiry skills to better understand the evolving sport management industry. In the final section of the course, you will closely study sport related research and its application to the industry. Upon successful completion, you will be prepared to explain what research is, its purpose, its importance to industry, how to use it, and when to use it.
