Comm. for Office Prof III

This course has two distinct goals: The first goal is to explore and review different job markets to facilitate students' awareness of the changing global workplace, as they prepare for their future careers. The second goal is for students to build on the collaborative work skills and communication skills learned in the first year of the program. Students analyze their transferable skills and develop accomplishment statements that can be used on their résumés. The interview component of the course exposes students to the types of questions and situations they can expect to face, as they search for a field placement and for full-time employment upon graduation. Students examine the role of the individual in the organization, including personal, interpersonal and organizational dynamics, as they evolve and shape the function of an organization. Students work cooperatively to plan, organize, and stage an event to simulate working within an organizational structure.
