Business Computer Applications I

This course will introduce students to computer skills that are required in businesses today. It provides first year business student with the necessary skills in word processing, presentation creation and spreadsheet to be successful in the business community. Students will develop skills that will be helpful when they are preparing and formatting professional research paper and other documents. They will learn how to develop and enhance presentations; as well as how to prepare and format spreadsheets. This introductory course will prepare students for further study in Excel applications as they continue in their areas of study. As part of this course, students will have the opportunity to attempt the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Word and PowerPoint Associate (Office 365 and 2019) Exams in an effort to obtain Microsoft Office Specialist Certifications (globally recognized credentials). The MOS exams must be proctored; therefore students will be provided the exam dates/times early in the semester to arrange their schedules accordingly.
