Justice & Youth Crime

This course focuses on the historical development of the youth justice system in Canada, leading up to the Youth Criminal Justice Act and other legislation. Topics include the detention, interviewing and processing of young people in the court system. As well, students examine alternative dispositions, rehabilitation, incarceration, recidivism, and the impact of peers and family on juvenile crime.
