Prototyping for Web

This course introduces students to the UX/UI (User Experience and User Interface) process of designing interfaces and interactions for websites and applications. Emphasis is on developing the essential skills needed for success in one of the most sought-after roles in today's digital landscape, while gaining real world interactive design experience. Students will utilize a variety of industry standard research methods involved in the user experience process in order to gain insights into how users think about digital experiences. Research topics include, competitive analysis, personas, user-centered design, information architecture and user task flows. Students will effectively apply the data retrieved from user experience research methods to create interactive and immersive prototypes for web apps and mobile apps. In this course, students will brainstorm, ideate, sketch and create low and high fidelity digital prototypes using industry standard UX prototyping tools, alongside user research methods that inform their designs. Students will gain practical skills that align with UX/UI design practices, within a critical framework, to become a discerning and conscious designer.
