Career and Professional Preparation 2

This course is designed to develop and build a student's portfolio for job readiness and will meet the occupational needs of students. Students will analyze their technical and transferable skills to create an action plan to develop their skill set to transition to the workplace or additional credentials. Further career exploration is enhanced through research on industry associations, organizations, and employment opportunities. Focus of study will prepare students for entering the field of Communications, including job search techniques, skills-testing, paperwork sessions, background info, behavioural interviews, references, portfolio building, employment researching, psychological testing, networking with industry personnel and additional certifications embedded. It will also focus teaching the skills for success during the application and pre-employment process as they are applying. Students will also participate in a behavioural interview, networking, and social skill development activities. This course will focus solely on career preparation and work with student during their applications as they near graduation.
