Field Placement Preparation and Career Planning

This course provides students the opportunity to engage in a structured approach to seeking and gaining an appropriate field placement and focuses on the individual and their preparation for a career in the recreation and leisure services industry. This course covers strategies for employer contact, how to complete required placement forms and documentation, appropriate placement behaviour, and how field placement is evaluated. The main topics of knowing oneself, marketing oneself and understanding the job application process are covered. Students will engage in a full range of job search practices and develop marketing tools to prepare them for their careers.
