Consumer Credit

This course will provide students with an in-depth understanding of the various forms of credit available to consumers, including credit cards, loans, lines of credit, as well as mortgages. Through developing an understanding of each form of credit facility available and the unique characteristics associated with each type; students will develop an extensive knowledge of consumer credit terminology, and be able to match the correct product to customers' needs. Students will learn the credit application process, as well as the assessment process in determining to grant or deny credit. Students will also learn the basic 5 C's of credit and gain practical experience through role-plays and case studies. Finally the course will introduce students to the legal and ethical considerations involved in consumer lending.
