Special Extinguishing Systems

This course is a study of alternative to water fire suppression utilized in environments where water may not be suitable as a primary suppression agent in the event of a fire condition. Students will learn the principals and the effectiveness of various suppression agents such as, foams, clean agents, inert gasses and dry powder. This lecture-based course will allow the student to effectively select and calculate gas agents for particular environments which require an alternative to water as a suppression agent.
