Field Experience I

Students spend the first part of the course creating a website to showcase the work they will complete in the program, conducting networking activities, preparing a letter of introduction and resume for their job shadow placement and learning interview skills. In the second half of the course, students are placed at a public, academic, school, or special library or related industry location where they have an opportunity to observe staff engaged in activities and tasks. Each week during this job shadow placement, students are expected to reflect on the content from co-requisite courses and consider how this topic is addressed at their placement.
