Field Placement Preparation
This course is divided into two seven-week-long sections. In the first seven weeks, students will develop an overview of addictions and mental health agencies available for Field Placement in Durham College's Addictions and Mental Health Graduate Program. Students will also be introduced to the administrative requirements for field placement (e.g., forms and certificates) and gain instruction in the preparation of a "portfolio" through several instructional sessions arranged with the college's "Career Services". In the second half of the course, students will be introduced to strategies to help prepare for the interviewing process and field placement experience. Opportunities to meet and hear from several graduates of the program will be provided and students will complete their personal "portfolio".
