The goal of this course is to provide the skills needed to understand and implement application layer firewalls. Working within a simulated business network environment, students will explore firewall technologies, penetration testing, network monitoring, and an examination of common attacks on enterprise level networks. The need for enterprise security policies and change management policies is emphasized. The installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of enterprise security services, such as firewalls, are important tasks associated with network administration. By successfully completing this course, students will have exposure to the type of duties expected of network administrators.
