This course is designed primarily for the college student who wishes to proceed to future studies in technology, or to meet the mathematics prerequisite requirement to transfer to a program at Ontario Tech University. Students will review fundamental arithmetic concepts and develop basic algebra skills to gain confidence manipulating mathematical expressions and solving problems. Fundamental arithmetic topics will include: manual calculations using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, integers and percents. Algebraic topics will include simplifying variable expressions, solving equations, polynomials, common factoring, simplifying rational expressions, graphing linear equations and solving systems of linear equations.
