This course is designed for students who wish to proceed to future studies in science and engineering and is intended to introduce skills in differential calculus. It builds on students' previous experience with functions beginning with the significance of the slope of a tangent. Students will develop an understanding of rates of change to include differentiation rules and techniques for polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions. Students will also apply their understanding of derivatives to interpret graphs and to solve problems using related rates and optimization.
