New Media Design I

The essence of all New Media courses is to utilize technology and various digital platforms to share information in exciting and innovative ways. The objectives of this course are for the student to take what they are currently learning about other forms of design and successfully apply that knowledge to a variety of unique digital media platforms, including web design and augmented reality (AR). Students will utilize design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustator, and Sketch to realize their visual concepts. Using the software Brackets, students will be introduced to coding and the web design process, and develop the necessary skills to build basic multi-page websites using HTML5 and CSS3. Using AR software, students will explore the integration of design with AR to create solutions relevant to the graphic design industry.
